Day by day.
Day 1 - Arrival in Kigali
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by our guide and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. Depending on your arrival time, you may take a brief city tour of Kigali, visiting landmarks such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial and local markets.
Day 2 - Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
After breakfast, depart for Nyungwe Forest National Park, a journey through Rwanda’s scenic countryside. En route, visit the Ethnographic Museum in Huye, and enjoy a lunch stop. Arrive in Nyungwe in the evening, check in to your lodge, and relax.
Day 3 - Best Chimpanzee Trekking Experience in Rwanda & Canopy Walk
Rise early for an exhilarating chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe Forest. Trek through dense vegetation, listening to the calls of primates before spotting playful chimpanzees. Later, embark on a canopy walk, offering breathtaking views of the rainforest from above.
Day 4 - Transfer to Lake Kivu
After breakfast, drive to Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s great lakes, offering spectacular views and relaxation. Enjoy a boat ride or take part in optional activities such as kayaking or a lakeside walk. Spend the evening unwinding at a lakeside resort.
Day 5 - Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Depart Lake Kivu and head to Volcanoes National Park, the home of Rwanda’s famous mountain gorillas. Arrive at your lodge, where you will receive a briefing about the upcoming gorilla trekking and wildlife safari in Rwanda.
Day 6 - Gorilla Trekking and Wildlife Safari in Rwanda
Wake up early for the highlight of your tour—gorilla trekking. Hike through the rainforest to find a gorilla family and spend a magical hour observing their behavior. After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation or explore the nearby cultural sites.
Day 7 - Rwanda Chimpanzee and Golden Monkey Trekking Tour & Iby’Iwacu Cultural Visit
Begin a golden monkey trekking experience in the morning, followed by a visit to Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where you will learn about Rwandan traditions, music, and dance.
Day 8 - Transfer to Akagera National Park
Depart Volcanoes National Park and drive to Akagera National Park. Arrive in time for an afternoon game drive, spotting wildlife such as elephants, zebras, and giraffes.
Day 9 - Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Lake Ihema
Start the day with a thrilling game drive in Akagera National Park, searching for the Big Five. In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on Lake Ihema, where you may spot hippos, crocodiles, and various bird species.
Day 10 - Return to Kigali & Departure
After breakfast, return to Kigali for a final city tour before being transferred to the airport for your departure flight, marking the end of an incredible journey through Rwanda.
